, Principal Investigator, is widely known for her research in geriatrics and elder abuse. She is a professor of Nursing and Director of The Muriel and Virginia Pless Center for Nursing Research at the Division of Nursing, School of Education at New York University.

Mathy Mezey, RN, EdD, FAAN,
Co-Principal Investigator, is the Independence Foundation Professor of Nursing at NYU's Division of Nursing, she has devoted her career to improving care for older people.  Directing the Hartford Institute offers her a vital platform for continuing her national leadership of innovative Geriatric Nursing.

Kathy Hyer, PhD,
Co-Principle Investigator, is currently the Director of the University of South Florida's Training Academy on Aging. She also holds courtesy faculty appointments in the Departments of Gerontology and Health Policy at USF. She received her DrPA from the Arizona State University and her MPP from The Kennedy School of Government from Harvard. Kathy has held senior level policy and administrative positions in government and not-for-profit health care agencies.

Ellen Flaherty, RN, GNP, PhD cand.
is the Resource Center Project Director since September 1999. For the past two years, as a doctoral student at NYU Division of Nursing, Ellen has worked on the GITT project in the development of the qualitative component of the common core measures. She received her MS from SUNY Stony Brook and has been practicing as a GNP in long-term care for the past 15 years. Her dissertation is related to professional socialization and geriatric interdisciplinary teams.
